are an eclectic evening of arts and culture in downtown San Jose's SoFA arts district, centered on South First Street. Held on the first Friday of every month, the Museum is open from 12-9pm and offers free admission from 7-9pm. It's a lively scene attended by arts-lovers of all ages.
$5 will be collected at the door.
Thread your needles and explore the intersections between art, technology, and traditional craft as we create string art illustrations with local maker Kathryn Hedges. Kathryn has designed a variety of fun laser-cut patterns for workshop participants to choose from, including geometric and natural forms. The finished products would work well as greeting cards or for other decorative purposes. All workshop materials are included with the $5 fee collected at the door. Kathryn Hedges is the owner of Splendid Colors. A member of the SF Etsy Team and TechShop San Jose, Kathryn creates a variety of laser-cut and etched artworks and jewelry designs. She is inspired by steampunk, natural, and historical themes in her whimsical creations. To see more of her work, visit her Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/splendidcolors
While you’re at the museum, be sure to visit the International TECHstyle Art Biennial 3 (ITAB) exhibit, which also celebrates the interplay between fiber media and new technologies.
