Tapestry: Design and Conception
Presenters: Yael Lurie and Jean Pierre Larochette

Learn about the process of making and creating tapestries. Experience the designing process thru the eyes of renowned artists, Larochette and Lurie. Enjoy a presentation on the history of cartoon design and tapestry making, followed by a discussion about the design process and the different contemporary approaches to tapestry making.

Temari Necklace Workshop

Almost forgotten, Temari balls are enjoying a renaissance not only in Japan but all over the world. Vibrant fibers knitted and knotted together make Temari unique and precious. Learn how to make these distinctive fiber beads in this 3 hour class. All materials are included; just bring your enthusiasm!

Professor: Anne Lamborn

Ever wanted to try your hand weaving on a loom? This class will give you a taste of the wonders of loom weaving. No experience necessary, professor Lamborn will give an introductory class on loom techniques. Participants will learn to weave on provided threaded loom. At the end of class students will take home a finished “welcome-sized mat!” Space is limited.
