Because of the generosity of people like you, over the past year we have been able to celebrate fiber arts in all its varied and expressive forms – including heart-rending world textiles in Weavings of War, visually arresting historical quilts from the Museum’s collection, gorgeous fashions of Marian Clayden and, in Saturn Returns, stunning works by some of the finest contemporary fiber artists working today. The San Jose Mercury News called Saturn Returns ”a revelation…an awe-inspiring demonstration of aesthetics.”

But the Museum doesn’t just touch the people who pass through its doors; we also bring engaging programs about the role of quilts in American history to approximately 8,000 local second and fifth graders every year. To help address a lack of funding for the arts in our schools we host a popular monthly arts program for children called Kids Create.

At a moment in time when the state of California spends just 5 cents per capita on the arts—less than any other state or U.S. territory— we invite you to invest our future. With the visionary support of people like you, the Museum can continue with the important work of education and honoring, collecting, and preserving the work of artists like Marian Clayden.

Our goal is to raise $50,000 by the end of June. We can’t meet this important financial objective without your support. It is, after all, only through the generosity of individuals like you that arts organizations can continue their work in these times of lean public funding. Please, make a tax-deductible donation today, and help us keep fiber arts alive in our community.

It feels good to give to a worthwhile organization. You’ll be glad you did.

Sincerely,
Jane Przybysz

Capstone Capital Development Campaign
In 2003 the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles embarked on an ambitious campaign to buy and renovate a permanent home for the Museum in downtown San Jose’s burgeoning arts and entertainment district known as SoFA. The Museum acquired an historic building, completed initial remodeling and opened to the public in September 2005. Phase II of development – the Capstone Campaign – will fully complete the facilities of a nationally significant teaching, exhibiting and collecting art institution and insure it continues to present compelling exhibitions and programs that promote the understanding and appreciation of textile art in our lives and our community. Invest in this Museum and its future by making a gift or pledge in support of the Capstone Campaign.
