SAN JOSE MUSEUM OF QUILTS AND TEXTILES NAMES NEW INTERIM DIRECTOR

The board of directors of the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles has engaged Andrea Temkin, a veteran nonprofit CEO and arts organizational consultant, as our interim director.

“We are extremely happy that we have been able to engage a well-known, seasoned arts management professional to guide the Museum’s next phase,” said Melissa Leventon, board chair. “We have every intention of continuing the Museum’s important role in the community.”

Ms. Temkin has more than 25 years of experience working with visual and performing arts organizations, including previous stints as an interim director with several local arts organizations. Her organizational management background includes strategic visioning, goal setting, business plans, program development and evaluation and fund development. She has worked with nonprofits, educational institutions, and government agencies.

Prior to her role with the Museum, Temkin served as executive director for eight years at Mountain View’s Community School of Music and Arts. She has been the principal of Transition Solutions Group since 2002, and most recently served as interim general manager for Quinteto Latino.

“The San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles is an accomplished area institution, hosting vibrant exhibitions and a unique permanent collection,” Temkin said. “I’m honored to be trusted

with the task of helping the organization move forward on firm financial and administrative footing.”
